Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an Endoscopy Technician in Charlottesville VA. This is a Full Time Day Shift. Schedule: Four 9-hour shifts: The hours are 645a to 415P Monday to Friday with the required call every 4th weekend and one day during the week.
Call Requirements: 1 day during the week from 4pm to 6am and every 4th weekend.

Endoscopy Unit:
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospitals Digestive Care Centers board-certified gastroenterologists including two Gastroenterology physicians and a colorectal surgeon treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder liver mouth stomach intestines pancreas colon and esophagus. The department sees an average of 16-18 procedures per day both ambulatory and inpatient.
This role will work with the physician on staff during procedure. Procedure experience preferred.
The Endoscopy Technician assists with the patient care in the Endoscopy Department. Is familiar with gastrointestinal and pulmonary diseases and assists during endoscopic procedures. Responsible for the preparation maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies. Functions under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent required
- Training from vocational or military preferred
Certification/Licensure
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
Experience
- Patient Care Experience Required
- Endoscopy experience preferred
- Sterile Processing experience preferred
- 2 years of Procedural Experience preferred
