As an Environmental Trainee you will participate in an extensive one-year training program designed to blend formal education with hands-on experience ultimately preparing you for the role of a Sanitarian. This position involves a variety of responsibilities within a specific geographic area of the Commonwealth emphasizing the application of pertinent rules and regulations during activities related to surveillance compliance and enforcement. Your duties will encompass providing consultation on issues related to private water supplies addressing water quality concerns that arise from various Department programs as well as state and federal agencies and managing challenges associated with environmental emergencies such as droughts and flooding. This multifaceted role will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to public health and safety within your community.
