Colorado Academy seeks a full-time science teaching candidate to cover a leave of absence from Thursday September 25 to Thursday February 12 in the 2025-2026 school year. The position begins midway through trimester one and concludes at the end of trimester two and includes sections of ninth grade Biology tenth grade Chemistry or Conceptual Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry an elective course open to eleventh and twelfth graders.
Candidates should have experience training and/or a demonstrated interest in teaching science in a student-centered classroom at the secondary school level. Candidates should be interested in working on a team with other teachers implementing an established curriculum.
Candidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Additionally candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the school community. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Demonstrated intercultural competence which we define as the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives identities and lived experiences is a must.
As with all CA teachers we ask that our short-term leave replacement science teacher carry out the CA Mission Creating Curious Kind Courageous and Adventurous Learners and Leaders and support the vision of the Upper School.
The pay for the full-time equivalent of this position is$63200 - $113900 actual compensation will be prorated based on time commitment. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex gender or gender identity but relates solely to a seniority system a merit system or relevant education training and/or experience. Medical Dental Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
