The Opportunity
Join the School of Biomedical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. In this position you will undertake high-quality teaching and research in biomedical engineering with a specific focus on biomaterials materials characterisation and the biological evaluation of materials and medical devices.

- A PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field with a research focus aligned to biomaterials materials characterisation and biological evaluation of materials and medical devices.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design development and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels particularly in areas related to biomedical materials and technologies. This includes the use of educational technologies and online methods.
- Proven ability to implement active-learning strategies and custom teaching technologies to enhance student engagement and learning especially in laboratory-based and materials-focused courses.
- Commitment to supporting diverse student cohorts promoting equity and inclusion and engaging students as partners in the learning experience.
- A strong track record of high-quality high-impact research in biomaterials or related fields with evidence of ongoing excellence and potential for research leadership aligned with the Cell and Materials Technologies theme.
- Experience in supervising higher degree research students with a focus on timely completions and academic development.
- Demonstrated collaboration with industry including work-integrated learning initiatives and applied research partnerships in medical devices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams and across academic and industry boundaries.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSWs values strategic goals and policies including health and safety responsibilities relevant to laboratory and clinical research environments.
- Strong organisational capabilities and experience in leading or contributing to initiatives that enhance teaching research and/or student experience in biomedical engineering and materials technologies.
