Data and System Analyst

The Information Technology (IT) Department plays a key role in supporting the Districts educational mission by maintaining reliable systems and providing innovative technological solutions.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data and System Analyst to join our IT team. This position is instrumental in the administration support and optimization of a wide range of critical systems and services including but not limited to: MyEdBC Clevr SmarterU CIMS and Connect ERP systems Destiny SEQUEL dashboards Active Directory Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Teams Entra ID). Supported systems may evolve to meet changing District needs.

Working closely with the Senior Data Analyst the successful candidate will help translate business requirements into technical solutions provide second-tier support and collaborate with staff across all levels of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement configure and maintain core software systems across the District.
  • Develop and deliver both scheduled and ad hoc reports using business intelligence tools and statistical analysis.
  • Analyze data from internal and external sources to uncover trends and support decision- making.
  • Monitor system integrations and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Build and manage automated data exchange processes between internal and third-party servers.
  • Create and maintain system documentation training materials and user guides.
  • Provide second-level technical support and act as an escalation point for complex issues.
  • Support annual system processes including year-end rollovers and start-ups for student HR and finance data.
  • Collaborate across departments and participate in District-level working groups and initiatives.
  • Proactively research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure effective and secure performance of systems through regular evaluation of tools and frameworks.
  • Assist with Ministry of Education student data reporting and submissions.
  • Provide support and installation of software as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in system support data analysis or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL Python and Linux environments.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms especially Microsoft Azure and M365 is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries servers and DB2 database administration is preferred.
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the K-12 education sector is an asset.
  • Must be available to work on-site at the Delta School Board Office five days per week.

  • Competitive annual salary range: $73642 $92052 based on qualifications and experience.
