Job Description
Location: Rockhampton
Remuneration/Benefit: $29p/h - $34p/h depending on year level
This is a casual contract working around studies over a 6-month period. The successful candidate must be located in Rockhampton.
About the role: Aurizons Rollingstock Engineering & Maintenance team is currently seeking a Student Engineer to support our Condition Monitoring team in Rockhampton on a 6-month casual basis.
This hands-on role is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering student to gain real-world experience in a large-scale rail operation. Working alongside experienced engineers youll contribute to projects that support the maintenance and reliability of Aurizons freight fleet.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Condition Monitoring team in reviewing analysing and reporting data from on-train and wayside monitoring systems
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of documentation procedures and reports
- Supporting investigations into rollingstock performance and failure events
- Liaising with site-based teams to collect field data and perform basic technical reviews
- Providing general engineering and administrative support as needed
About you:Were looking for a motivated and curious individual who is currently completing a tertiary degree in Mechanical Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering and has:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A passion for learning and contributing to real-world engineering projects
