TheFinance Operations Manageris a senior leader within ATCO Gas responsible for driving financial performance strategic decision-making and governance across operational capital and project portfolios. Leading a team of Management Accountants the role ensures strong financial management and empowers budget owners across the business.
As a trusted advisor to Gas Operations leadership the Manager embeds financial discipline and strategy throughout the division playing a vital role in supporting the safe efficient and sustainable operation of the Gas Distribution System.
What Success Looks Like
- Lead the financial strategy for Gas Operations aligning with divisional and ATCO-wide objectives.
- Inspire and mentor a high-performing Finance Operations team fostering a culture of trust accountability and collaboration.
- Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial performance across operational and capital portfolios.
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior leaders translating complex data into clear actionable advice.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements accounting standards and internal governance frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems processes and reporting to enhance operational efficiency.
Exposure & Experience
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA accreditation (essential).
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior finance roles with strong business partnering governance and leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated success supporting complex operations and large-scale projects ideally in regulated industries.
- Expertise in budgeting forecasting project accounting and performance analysis.
- Proficient in ERP systems with strong analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement focus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into insights; knowledge of infrastructure networks and the Australian utilities sector is highly desirable.
