SUMMARY
Bishop Lynch High School seeks a mission-driven professional who will serve as the Computer Support Technician. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology this experienced professional is responsible for providing exemplary leadership in the implementation of the goals of Catholic education as outlined in The Holy Sees Teaching on Catholic Schools (Archbishop Michael Miller):

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Computer Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining and supporting all aspects of the schools end-user computing and classroom technology environment and network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on timely effective service and communication. This position is working directly with people and providing excellent customer service.


SKILLS REQUIRED
Qualified candidates will be able to perform the following duties at an exemplary level: This is a customer service position more than a heads-down computer-centric position.


Deploy maintain and troubleshoot Windows and Mac OS operating systems and software
across desktops and laptops
Provide hands-on support for staff and student devices including diagnosis and repair of
hardware and software issues
Light administration and support of network infrastructure including Cisco/Meraki switches and wireless access points
Perform printer setup maintenance and troubleshooting
Manage and monitor anti-virus software across endpoints and centralized consoles
Assist with firewall policy support and development
Install and terminate network cabling including performing cable pulls and labeling
Provide end-user support for Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 tools
Support and maintain Microsoft Active Directory user accounts groups and policies
Deploy images and manage endpoints using enterprise imaging/deployment solutions
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with students parents faculty staff and members of our community.
Work independently and in collaboration with the technology team to prioritize and resolve
technical issues


JOB EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for faculty staff and students
Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems and procedures
Assist in maintaining asset inventory of technology equipment
Implement and follow established IT policies and best practices
Participate in the setup and maintenance of classroom and office technology
Assist with planning and execution of technology-related projects in support of the overall
strategic technology plan
Respond promptly to helpdesk tickets and service requests
Support teammates with responsibilities for system administration and audio-visual support.
Departmental goal is 70% cross-training.
Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure systems are secure up-to-date and aligned with the schools mission


QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a Windows-based environment
Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS and Microsoft Office/Office365
Experience with computer hardware repair and peripheral setup
Basic understanding of networking concepts particularly with Cisco-based infrastructure
Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with antivirus systems and basic firewall concepts
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks such as cable pulls
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Typing/keyboard at 40 wpm or higher
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding user data
Professional courteous demeanor in a school environment with dress code (males wear
neckties)


Preferred qualifications include:
Associates degree bachelors degree or technical certifications (e.g. CompTIA A Network Microsoft certifications)
Experience working in an educational or nonprofit environment
Familiarity with classroom technologies such as projectors document cameras interactive flat panels and smart displays
Experience with imaging and deployment tools (e.g. InTune SCCM FileWave or similar)
Familiarity with Catholic school environments and a willingness to support the mission of
Catholic education
