Job Description

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Quantity Surveying Finance or a related field.

  • Relevant cost engineering experience in a senior or lead role on large-scale construction projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of construction cost control principles budgeting forecasting and financial analysis.

  • Proficiency with cost management software such as Primavera P6 Ares Prism EcoSys SAP or equivalent.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of construction contracts (e.g. FIDIC NEC lump sum remeasurement).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with field teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Willingness to be based on-site full-time and adapt to the demands of a dynamic construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project cost estimates and budgets in collaboration with the estimating and project teams.

  • Track and manage project expenditures against the approved budget ensuring accuracy in cost allocation and reporting.

  • Provide cost forecasting and cash flow projections using earned value and other performance management techniques.

  • Identify cost trends and potential risks or overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure all changes (variations scope changes claims) are properly documented and incorporated into the project budget and forecast.

  • Liaise with procurement and contract teams to ensure cost data from purchase orders contracts and invoices is accurately integrated.

  • Prepare and present regular cost reports and dashboards for senior management clients and stakeholders.

  • Support monthly reporting cycles including accruals cost-to-complete analysis and forecast updates.

  • Assist in the evaluation of contractor payment applications and change order requests.

  • Ensure compliance with company and client cost control procedures and financial standards.

  • Support the closeout process by reconciling costs validating final accounts and contributing to lessons learned.
