Salary: Teaching Assistant Grade E SCP 6 to 8 13.05 - 13.47 pr hr - MDSA/Play Leader SCP 2 12.26 pr hr

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30-12.00 (Teaching Assistant role) 12.00-13.15 (MDSA role)
Term time only: Teaching Assistant role 16 hours per week MDSA role 6 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Here at Redland School webelieve in developing and nurturing the whole child. Each child is unique which is something we celebrate and value as a school. The core skills of English and maths areextremely important but they alone do not define a child. Providing a curriculum which is enriching and broad which stimulates interest and curiosity is integral. Alongside this we actively promote being healthy and as active as were judged to be Good by Ofsted in January 2022. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled teaching assistant to join our supportive team with additional lunchtime responsibilities as an MDSA/play leader.

We wish to appoint someone who:

  • Is passionate about working with children to support their development
  • Is an excellent team worker
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding as part of their role
  • Has experienceworking with children
  • Has good standards of maths and English
  • Can build positive relationships and relate well to children and adults
  • Can be adaptable to the needs of the child and the class and is confident to use their own initiative
  • Will support and work closely with the class teacher and SENCo

Additional responsibilities as part of the MDSA/play leader role:

  • Supervise support and interact with children of all ages in the different areas around the school (playground school hall etc) whilst they are eating lunch or taking part in lunchtime activities.
  • Facilitate and support a variety of outdoor play activities for the children at lunchtime
  • Provide basic first aid when needed
  • Clean and tidy the school dinner hall
