Job Description
At Amazon were seeking a Product Operations Manager to lead our VAT Transactions Report (AVTR) team a crucial system that handles billions of transactions for Amazons European marketplace sellers. AVTR is essential for our sellers VAT compliance across the EU providing accurate and timely transaction data that enables them to meet their tax obligations effectively.
As the Product Operations Manager for AVTR youll drive operational excellence in our VAT reporting systems ensuring seamless delivery of transaction data to hundreds of thousands of sellers. Youll collaborate with tax teams engineers and business stakeholders to optimize reporting processes implement new VAT requirements across different EU jurisdictions and enhance the overall seller experience. Your role will be critical in maintaining high data accuracy improving processing times and developing scalable solutions as transaction volumes grow.
Were looking for someone with strong product or program management experience preferably with background in financial systems or tax reporting. Understanding of EU VAT regulations and marketplace operations is a plus. You should excel at data analysis cross-functional team leadership and be able to translate complex tax requirements into practical technical solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement robust operational processes to improve seller experience across all applicable marketplaces
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage stakeholder communications and provide regular updates on program performance and metrics
- Monitor key operational metrics and KPIs to ensure program effectiveness and AVTR goals are met
- Build and maintain comprehensive reporting systems to provide sellers with transparent visibility into their VAT reporting obligations
- Partner with Product Tech Tax and Legal teams to implement operational improvements and resolve complex VAT-related issues
- Collaborate with and manage internal and external partners involved in the end-to-end seller journey
A day in the life
During your day you could find yourself:
- Diving into data to identify patterns and opportunities for process improvement
- Troubleshooting complex VAT scenarios with the tech team to ensure accurate and timely seller responses
- Creating documentation for a new operational process youve designed
- Meeting with stakeholders to drive and align key decisions and debate solution approaches

- A Bachelors degree
- Basic SQL knowledge or data self-sufficiency for carrying out day to day jobs.
- Experience in driving large cross-functional programs strong program and project management experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.
- A MBA
- Prior experience working with technical products or online services
- Track record for delivering results in fast-moving and demanding environments
- Proven ability to identify analyze and solve ambiguous problems showing a track record of making business decisions using relevant data and insights.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities preferably in a multi-organizational setting.
