Job Description:
The Principal Global Trade Compliance is a full-time position within the Corporate Global Trade function at L3Harris reporting to the Director and Counsel Global Trade Compliance. This position can be either remote or located in the Arlington VA or Melbourne FL offices. The Principal Global Trade Compliance will investigate reportable compliance incidents to determine if an action or series of actions resulted in a USG trade regulatory violation. Furthermore for those incidents that resulted in a violation the Principal Trade Compliance will draft documentation including voluntary self-disclosures summarizing the incident the root causes and the corrective actions.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct internal investigations involving reported compliance incidents to determine whether potential violations of US and non US export controls may have occurred.
- Develop investigation plans and reports; collect and analyze evidence.
- Coordinate with legal HR IT and other functions as needed throughout the investigative lifecycle.
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Track and monitor investigations in case management systems and support required disclosures to applicable U.S. Government agencies.
- Coordinate and align with business segments on actionable corrective actions making recommendations on how to address root causes of potential matters. Track and follow-up on corrective actions related to CAVs self-assessments audits etc.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant export controls laws (e.g. ITAR EAR) but with a primary focus on investigative best practices.
- Present findings to Trade Compliance leadership.
- Draft and submit for review voluntary self-disclosures drafts as well as internal close-out memos. Assist with managing the corporate trade compliance program.
- Provide support to assist with fulfilling the requirements of the Consent Agreement
- Assist with data collection in preparation for internal assessments audits etc.
- 5-10% travel domestically
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to apply U.S. Government regulatory requirements in complex scenariosExperience with conducting compliance investigations
- Exhibits a high attention to detail integrity and discretion
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel at all levels both verbally and in writing
- Working knowledge of IT systems platforms and tools a plus.
- Proficiency in OCR EASE export administration and licensing software
- Experience working under a Consent Agreement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook) and SharePoint
- Demonstrated consistent application of company and industry business practices and concepts
- Specialized knowledge of multiple areas within U.S. Government regulations and business practices
- Ability to travel as necessary to support the functions of the job
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Seattle Washington D.C. Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area the city of Denver Washington State and New York City the salary range for this role is $118000 - $219000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
