What you will do at Harris County Precinct 2

The Executive Director of Administrative Services is a senior management position responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioners Office. This role includes leadership and management of Human Resources Risk Management Organizational Development Administrative Personnel (Budgeting Finance). The Executive Director will ensure that these areas operate efficiently and align with the strategic goals and objectives of the office.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment onboarding training and development programs.
  • Manage employee relations including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations.
Risk Management
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the organization.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies.
  • Coordinate insurance coverage and claims processing.
  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
Budgeting and Finance
  • Lead the annual budgeting process including planning preparation and monitoring.
  • Oversee financial reporting forecasting and analysis.
  • Manage procurement processes and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements.
Administrative Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for administrative services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support organizational goals.
  • Represent the department in meetings and on committees as required.

Requirements

Education:

Experience:
  • Minimum of seven (7)to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative services with significant experience in a leadership role
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective and proficient writing editing project planning and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to convey complex information in clear easy to understand formats.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadline.
  • Detail oriented professional punctual dependable self-motivated individual with ability to think creatively.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint is required.
