About the Role:

This role will contribute to theincreasing reliance on GIS tomore efficiently and effectively deliver capital projects and support asset managementwith a focus on large scale applications at major wastewater facilities. The primary function of this role is todevelop and maintain dataset representing infrastructure and planned capital projects atwastewater treatment plants support the development of GIS representations of assetsmaintained in the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)and produce maps analyses web tools and other products in support of the capital delivery and asset management programs.

GIS Specialists in the Wastewater GIS Team belong to a group responsible for the development and maintenance of data critical to planning construction operation and asset management of the Wastewater Treatment Divisions infrastructure. The use of GIS in WTD is expanding and expectations for its capabilities and integrations with other systems are growing. Working Conditions:


  • Remote and Onsite Work Details:Employees in this role work remotely from a home location with onsite reporting requirements typically 1-5 times quarterly. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St Seattle WA 98104) and wastewater treatment plant facilities. This work arrangement promotes work-life balance and reduces carbon footprint under the departments vision of Green Where We Work.
  • Requirement:Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
  • Work Schedule:This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
