About the Role:
This role will contribute to theincreasing reliance on GIS tomore efficiently and effectively deliver capital projects and support asset managementwith a focus on large scale applications at major wastewater facilities. The primary function of this role is todevelop and maintain dataset representing infrastructure and planned capital projects atwastewater treatment plants support the development of GIS representations of assetsmaintained in the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)and produce maps analyses web tools and other products in support of the capital delivery and asset management programs.

GIS Specialists in the Wastewater GIS Team belong to a group responsible for the development and maintenance of data critical to planning construction operation and asset management of the Wastewater Treatment Divisions infrastructure. The use of GIS in WTD is expanding and expectations for its capabilities and integrations with other systems are growing. Job Duties
What You Will Be Doing:
- Conduct development and maintenance of datasets supporting WTD asset management and capital project delivery efforts.
- Conduct GIS analyses in support of WTD planning capital and operational efforts
- Design produce and deliver maps tables and other graphic products to present current information and to support reporting on research and analytical findings
Develop and deploy products and services for clients using the online capabilities of ESRIs ArcGIS platform particularly ArcGIS Online ArcGISEnterprise(Portal) and ArcGIS Solutions.
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Qualifications You Bring:
- Knowledge of GIS production of complex cartographic and other spatial data displays analysis and applicationsincludingcartographic geodetic and geospatial concepts
- Applied professional experiencein the application and use of GIS technologyknowledgeand skills with latest versions of ArcGIS Online ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Pro Arcade Python and ArcGIS Solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication skillswith ademonstrated ability to work with a variety of staff atdifferent levels
- Experience andproficiencywith MS Office Suite products including word processing spreadsheet databaseschedulingand e-mail Performaccuratedata entryin a timely manner
- Must be comfortable with internet and intranet usage and management of electronic documents
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals from contractors elected officials thegeneral public and other King County staff. Must play well with others
- Strong information technology knowledge with particular emphasis on data structures and database concepts
- Ability to Google no really.Itsan important skill. Know how toutilizevarious resources such as Google Stack Exchange and various GIS community Forums

Working Conditions:
- Remote and Onsite Work Details:Employees in this role work remotely from a home location with onsite reporting requirements typically 1-5 times quarterly. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St Seattle WA 98104) and wastewater treatment plant facilities. This work arrangement promotes work-life balance and reduces carbon footprint under the departments vision of Green Where We Work.
- Requirement:Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
- Work Schedule:This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
