Associate Principal Woburn High School
The Associate Principal at Woburn Memorial High School will report to the Building Principal. This position will provide administrative support to the building principal in the areas of Curriculum & Instruction Staff Supervision & Evaluation Building Operations Student Discipline and Engagement. This position will focus primarily on academics data and assessment.
Qualifications and Skill Set:
- Masters Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Appropriate Licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principal by the Massachusetts Departmentof Elementary and Secondary Education. Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement.
- At least five years minimum experience as a teacher or related service provider in a secondary school setting with evidence of strong leadership ability.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assumes leadership of the school in the absence of the principal.
- Collaborates with the principal to establish and maintain rules and procedures for studentand staff safety.
- Effectively implements school and district action plans in crisis and emergency situations.
- Manage the Instructional Leadership Team process and exercise direct responsibility onimplementation of WMHSs instructional vision and priorities.
- Participates in curriculum development activities that align with school and district goals.
- Collaborates with District leadership Building leadership Curriculum Coordinators
- Department Heads and teachers in order to assist the principal in the development revision and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Assists in identifying planning and implementing professional development programs that align with instructional vision and priorities.
- Use data to monitor student progress.
- Collaborate on the MTSS implementation process.
- Participates in Special Education Team meetings when deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrates positive and supportive interactive skills and facilitates the development of good collegial relationships among staff. Collaborates with the principal to develop and maintain positive staff morale.
- Assists the principal in organizing and supervising school-related activities.
- Maintains high visibility and accessibility in the school.
- With the principal and leadership team shares responsibility for discipline and school culture and implements the schools vision and priorities.
- Collaborates on the educator evaluation system and assumes responsibility for evaluations of teachers and other building staff.
- Assists the principal on hiring and other personnel decisions.
- Assists the Principal with communications to stakeholders: students parents teachers and the community.
- Engages in relevant professional development activities.
- Represents the principal at professional meetings and community events in the principals absence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal.
