This is a team effort and everyone contributes to getting that job done. We call it the Morning Rush. It usually takes 1 hour to accomplish this task. Once the trucks are loaded those assigned that day for delivery leave to deliver the product to 2 or 3 stores depending on the run day. Delivery drivers normally return to the warehouse around noon. This position rotates between delivery and warehouse duties with a minimum of 3 days a week of typical driver duties depending upon rotation and vacation schedule.
Those not assigned to delivery duties that day may perform various tasks. These may include but are not limited to picking orders shipping receiving putting away products forklift activities cleaning running errands and other tasks assigned by management. After a driver has returned from the stores all available warehouse staff help drivers offload their trucks. The main goal for the warehouse once the trucks are back for the day is to prepare the runs for the next morning. Those activities usually conclude between 2:00 and 2:30 pm each day when the shift ends.
