Job Description

The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace which prohibits the use of marijuana (recreational marijuana/non-medical cannabis). Please note this position may be subject to additional restrictions pursuant to the State of Ohio Drug-Free Workplace Policy (HR-39) and as outlined in the posting.

30 months of experience or training in secretarial/administrative professional field.

OR

Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college AND 12 months of experience in secretarial/administrative professional field.

OR

12 months of experience as Administrative Professional 2 16872.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Business or Healthcare or Advanced degree in secretarial science
  • Experience working with/in healthcare facilities (i.e. nursing home assisted living home health agencies hospice)
  • Experience scheduling multiple healthcare staff work assignments daily (not scheduling appointments)
  • Experience using critical thinking; identifying problems analyzing and evaluating data
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment
  • Experience with multi-tasking or paying attention to details
  • Experience working with two (2) or more computer systems and software systems (e.g. Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint Access)
  • Experience with communicating effectively and efficiently verbally and in writing
  • Experience with problem solving and overcoming obstacles
  • Experience working with a team
  • Experience working with gathering and organizing information

ODH is seeking to fill three Administrative Professional 3 positions within the Bureau of Survey & Certification (BOSC). BOSC is responsible for conducting survey inspections to ensure health care providers and clinical laboratories are compliant with state and federal requirements. Unless required by legislation the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 30 Step 1 of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule ($24.66 per hour) with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($25.61) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
