Purpose of the role

As the Events Operations Manager you will be responsible for producing content and managing operations for a series of events within the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) team. The Dods D&I team run full-day events covering all areas diversity and inclusion. We attract leading figures from the Government the wider public sector and industry to speak at our events which are attended by a mix of policy makers and practitioners. you will be reporting into the Head of D&I.


Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the delivery of a wide portfolio of events from inception to completion.
  • To manage all event delivery aspects of all D&I events event from start to finish to a high standard. This includes sourcing negotiating and confirming contracts with venues from across the UK liaising with venue staff from initial enquiry to on the day running as well as working with any external suppliers for AV couriering etc.
  • To manage multiple events simultaneously in person online and hybrid.
  • To meet agreed plans and timelines and to ensure the smooth running of events from conception to delivery.
  • To arrange travel for staff and speakers; booking accommodation and transport as required.
  • To brief and liaise with internal and external design and production teams on adverts websites listings brochures and other relevant online/offline materials.
  • To manage personal requirements of event attendees (e.g. delegates accessibility).
  • To ensure event logistics for attendees is fully up to date on websites.
  • To lead on liaison with the venue and its staff to ensure a successful event.
  • To lead on liaison with the exhibition AV and on-site registration sub-contractors and others as required.
  • To create and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and partners meeting and managing expectations as part of this.
  • End to end responsibility for the technical management and production of several events whilst remaining aligned to strategic goals and event requirements.
  • Social media management: managing social media accounts and growing our online presence.


What we are looking for


Education and Qualifications

  • Education to degree level or equivalent.


Experience and Knowledge

  • Relevant experience within a similar role.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on a range of events and projects at any one time.
  • An understanding of digital marketing including an active interest in websites and social media
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time keeping skills.
  • Flexible quick thinker highly organised and can deal with tight deadlines and a demanding environment.
  • A strong knowledge of MS Office applications Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of UK and EU current affairs is desirable.
