Job Description
Wagstaff manufactures equipment for aluminum producers who process formed aluminum into parts and products you use every day.
Pay: $23-$35 per hour depending on experience

Develop evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by utilizing knowledge of product design materials components welding tooling equipment capabilities assembly methods and quality control standards.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Estimates manufacturing requirements capabilities and capacity under the supervision of a more senior tech or manager
- Assists Demand Management Materials/Purchasing and Quality Assurance to develop and/or improve outside processes and services
- Works under the supervision of senior techs in the design and/or specification of equipment used to manufacture Wagstaff products
- Designs fixtures tooling and custom machinery for in-plant use
- Ensures department compliance with the Wagstaff Quality System
- Abide by company policies
- In order to achieve business objectives work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
- Assists Demand Management and Planning in the development of standard product quotations as required
- Provides Wagstaff Applied Technologies (AT) with inputs to contract manufacturing and contract engineering proposals and projects
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED
- Associate of Arts/Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Machining Technology Manufacturing Technology Engineering Technology or related technical discipline and zero to two (0-2) years experience
- Or five (5) years technical experience as a practicing machinist fixture designer CNC programmer or CNC machine operator
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job work is performed primarily in an adequately lit well ventilated climate controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.
This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor the employee may be exposed to fumes airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals risks of moving equipment and parts and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Because of this environment and associated risks coordination with shop floor managers/employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor and use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop floor is often loud.
