We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Services Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our specimen receipt and processing team. This department is critical to ensuring the accurate and timely intake verification and preparation of specimens for clinical testing across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory operations team leadership and quality assurance in a high-throughput environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end process of specimen intake accessioning and routing for clinical testing.
- Lead train and develop a team of specimen processing staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor workflow and implement strategies to maintain high efficiency quality and turnaround time (TAT).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. CLIA FDA ISO) and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with laboratory managers supervisors couriers client services and IT to resolve specimen issues and improve handoffs.
- Develop and maintain departmental SOPs and training documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Manage scheduling staffing levels and performance evaluations for the department.
- Respond promptly to specimen-related incidents or errors conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in a life science healthcare administration or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g. MLS(ASCP) MLT or similar) preferred.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of laboratory specimen workflows and data systems (e.g. Laboratory Information SystemsLIS).
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

- Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- May require occasional weekend or holiday coverage.
