Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville has immediate need for a part-time professor of Anatomy & Physiology in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Jacksonville Florida.

Days: Monday;Tuesday;Wednesday;Thursday; 

Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm (lecture) & 6:00pm-8:00pm (lab)

The course of instruction is:

Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 thru BIOS-256)

This is a four-course sequence in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

Topics include:

  1. Basic anatomical and directional terminology muscle tissues fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
  2. Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervous systems special senses and the endocrine system
  3. Cardiovascular immune and respiratory systems
  4. Digestive urinary and reproductive systems

Courses typically meet in person twice per week (lecture followed by lab) for eight-week sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes prepares and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software including Websites e-mail and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives assignment/examinations dates and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications :

  • Earned a masters or doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in Anatomy & Physiology
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all graduate degrees earned from a regionally accredited institution. For degrees earned outside of the US a course-by-course US equivalency evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator
  • Have taught or been told youre a natural at teaching and helping others learn
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing education and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion respect and care
  • Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues students and the broader community
  • Have a strong work ethic learn from mistakes build positive spirit and always look for a better way
  • Put the team first appreciate diverse points of view assume positive intent collaborate and communicate openly


Additional Information :

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1120 per assignment to $7245 per assignment depending on the candidates education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
