Job Description

Revenue Accountant - 6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Uxbridge / Hybrid

An established and growing business is seeking a skilled Revenue Accountant to support its finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong experience in revenue recognition, invoicing, and project accounting, along with some exposure to payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue & Invoicing

  • Work closely with sales admin and account management teams to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing

  • Raise project-related invoices (e.g. down payments and final stage invoices) based on milestones or completion

  • Validate and dispatch invoices using Odoo, ensuring all required details are correct

  • Prepare and review consolidated monthly invoices for key clients

  • Cross-check lamp supply invoices for accuracy and compliance with POs

  • Raise credit notes as required

Credit Control

  • Send statements and follow up on outstanding payments via email and phone

  • Escalate long-standing issues to account managers and recommend credit holds when necessary

Project Financial Oversight

  • Attend monthly project review meetings

  • Ensure all completed projects are fully invoiced and revenue is recognised correctly

  • Reconcile WIP balances and monitor project costs

Payroll Support

  • Set up new starters and process leavers in payroll system

  • Calculate and process monthly payroll (UK and Ireland), issue payslips, and handle payroll queries

  • Post payroll journals and assist with annual P11Ds

Other Duties

  • Support the transition of project financials from spreadsheets to a CRM system

  • Update weekly cashflow forecasts with expected customer receipts

  • Perform selected monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong background in revenue accounting, invoicing, and project finance

  • Excellent attention to detail with good working knowledge of finance systems (Odoo experience a plus)

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across finance, sales, and operations

  • Confident handling payroll tasks and reconciliations

  • Available to start promptly and commit for 6 months
