Primary Responsibilities
Candidate will coordinate grant and proposal development for Borderlands Research Institute ( BRI ) at Sul Ross State University ( SRSU ). Working with BRI faculty and staff the candidate will evaluate the suitability of grant applications for various projects and serve as the liaison with SRSUs Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance with all university pre-award proposal requirements. Primary duties Provide faculty and staff proposal development support for various conservation-related funding opportunities and work collaboratively with investigators to prepare high-quality competitive grant proposals and perform other duties as assigned. Example tasks include but are not limited to: Identify potential funding sources. Develop strategic relationships with funding source point-of-contacts. Interpret grant policies rules and regulations to inform research investigators about suitability and compliance requirements. Coordinate with faculty and staff to assimilate and collect documentation permits and agreements with partnering agencies. Provide grant templates to investigators and assist with developing reviewing and revising proposal documents for submission. Assist with interim and final grant report writing. Work with BRI grant accountant to ensure pre-award budgetary compliance related to grant requirements (i.e. budgeting match cost-share in-kind service etc ) Attend grantsmanship workshops/trainings and provides new knowledge to faculty and staff. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times including maintaining data security and confidentiality. Supervision: Received: Reports to the Associate Director of Development Borderlands Research Institute. Given: None. Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director. Position is security sensitive.
