The City of Topekas Office of Inclusive Communities team is seeking a compassionate resourceful and community-centered Community Navigator to serve as a key liaison between residents and vital community resources. This position will support individuals and families in accessing services related to housing property maintenance health employment and more ensuring that all community members can thrive in safe connected and well-maintained neighborhoods. Primary hours are Monday Friday from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. however occasional evening or weekend hours to attend community events is required.

What youll do:
- Act as a first point of contact for residents seeking information or assistance with local services and resources.
- Provide personalized guidance to help individuals navigate available community and property maintenance programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local nonprofits public agencies service providers and neighborhood organizations to ensure up-to-date knowledge of available services.
- Support community outreach efforts by attending tabling events workshops and neighborhood meetings to increase awareness of resources and services.

The ideal candidate has:
- Demonstrated knowledge of community-based services and navigation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skill
- The ability to build trust and work respectfully with all populations
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
- With a High School Diploma a minimum of four (4) years of experience in community outreach case management social services or related work is required.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associates degree in social work public administration community development or a related field is preferred. A bachelors degree is highly desirable.
- With an associates degree a minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach case management social services or related work is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka insurance carrier.
Entry rate of pay: $25.38 - $30.45/hour depending on qualifications
