JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct nursing services to residents including but not limited to observation recording and monitoring treatments and therapy and medication administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively plans and implements resident care according to physician orders current policy and procedure and standards of care.
Monitors and records resident care data consistent with existing policies and nursing practice standards.
Effectively supervises and administers the delivery of resident care in the resident care area assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
Must have a valid and active LPN or RN license in the State of CT.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a long term care or clinical setting is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a charge position is preferred.
STATE / FEDERAL MANDATED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Current State of Connecticut license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. Must have AHA CPR Certification.
INGRAHAM MANOR MANDATED EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Ingraham Manor.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must demonstrate patience and kindness toward residents and families. Must possess good observation and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to perform all aspects of nursing care. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to endure a prolonged period of extensive walking standing stooping pushing and pulling. Moderate periods of sitting twisting reaching occasional crouching crawling kneeling and balancing. Vision hearing smell and tactile sensation corrected or accommodated to normal.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regular contact with residents body substances and hazardous chemicals 75 degree temperature varied lighting regular contact with soap and water moderate noise level use of various types of lifting devices.
COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read write and follow written and oral instructions.
RESIDENT AGE DISTRIBUTION
Resident Care Positions Only. Resident ages (18 years of age and up).
