Job Title: People and Culture Generalist FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $72000 - $88000 / Annually
Reports To: Sr. Director of People and Culture Program Type: Administration
Organizational Overview:
House of Ruth offers comprehensive services and housing for women and children. Our services range from supportive housing for families and single women in crisis to a therapeutic developmental daycare for houseless children and free counseling services to anyone who has been a victim of domestic violence.
Position Summary:
The People and Culture Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the human resources needs of a mission-driven nonprofit. This role is responsible for implementing HR initiatives and strategies managing employee relations full-cycle recruitment compliance and administering employee benefits to foster a positive organizational culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings candidate screening interview coordination and onboarding.
Administer employee benefits programs and serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers.
Support performance management including performance reviews goal setting and employee development initiatives.
Handle employee relations addressing questions concerns and conflict resolution in alignment with organizational policies.
Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws.
Coordinate training and development programs to promote staff growth and retention.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Support payroll processing in coordination with the finance department.
Promote an equitable and inclusive workplace culture aligned with House of Ruth DCs mission and values.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in human resources Business Administration or related field.
At least three years of human resource management experience required.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Successfully passing the following pre-employment process is required:

o Police Clearance
o Must be fully vaccinated (including the booster)

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
