Cloud Engineer - Networking

Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer Networking to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in updating and automating networking infrastructure deployment and management using code ensuring efficient scalable and reliable systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms configuration management and DevOps practices.
This position is located in FairfaxVA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain Networking Infrastructure as Code (VPN VPC and NAT Routing) solutions using template like Terraform. Ansible or CloudFormation
Automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure within the Google Cloud Platform.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate IaC solutions into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab Ultimate.
Implement and manage configuration management solutions to ensure consistency and compliance across environments.
Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance scalability networking and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
Document networking infrastructure designs processes and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud networking infrastructure and DevOps.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure automation and cloud technologies
Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform for VPN and VPC resources.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform AWS Azure) and their services.
Ability to troubleshoot common VPC infrastructure issues in regard to Network ACLs Security Groups Direct Connect VPC Peering and Transit Gateway.
Experience deploying and maintaining solutions built on Google IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) offerings.
Knowledge of Google/Cloud Security and Management Services (IAM).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. GitLab Ultimate or others)
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant certifications (e.g. GCP Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
GitLab Ultimate
Google Cloud Platform(GCP) experience is a plus but experience with AWS and Azure are considered.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Services or other similar Cloud Platform Services.
Experience Packaging and Publishing software for client consumption.
Experience with Microservice Architecture and building containers.
Experience with modern container-based applications.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88200.00 - $214800.00.
