Key responsibilities of an Aspiring Maths Teacher:
Deliver small group Maths interventions to support student progress
Assist class teachers in implementing the curriculum effectively
Support students with additional needs including SEND and SEMH
Build strong relationships with students parents and staff
Model and reinforce positive behaviour and learning attitudes
Engage proactively in all aspects of school life and academic planning
Track and report student progress with clarity and detail
Show adaptability and initiative in a dynamic school setting
The ideal Aspiring Maths Teacher will have:
A 1:1 Maths degree from a Top 20 UK University
Confidence managing behaviour and maintaining engagement
Experience working with or tutoring secondary-age students
A proactive and creative approach to teaching support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A genuine passion for Maths and a desire to enter teacher training
The ability to thrive in a large fast-paced Barking & Dagenham school
