City Reporter

Midland Daily News is seeking a highly motivated City Reporter to cover local government state government and community news in Midland Bay City and the surrounding area. We are looking for a journalist who can deliver stories quickly and accurately who is curious about and interested in the communities they cover and who has a proven ability to connect with sources.
What Youll Do:
This journalist is responsible for creating content with our digital audience in mind whether that is breaking news a long-term enterprise project or a feature profile. Experience using public records requests is a bonus.
What We Require:
- Degree in journalism communications or related field.
- Some experience in news reporting.
- An interest in covering city politics and business.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong reporting writing organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom and reprioritize assignments as news breaks.
