Job Description

Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible inspecting and testing the dimensional metallurgical and appearance of all parts to meet the plants quality goals.

In this Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Audit incoming materials work in progress and finished parts for adherence to blueprint specifications using precision measuring equipment such as gages calipers micrometers and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Segregate non-conforming material and pieces providing reasons for rejection
  • Perform dimensional layouts on sample components for approval of supplier tooling document all findings and assist with interpretation as required
  • Provide feedback on what is required to bring rejected parts within specifications to production team members
  • Participate in 5S and Lean activities
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers Materials team and Production team to resolve quality issues

For This Role You Will Need:

High School Diploma GED or demonstrated ability to read write and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level

  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments such as functional gages calipers micrometers depth gages
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70lbs
  • Ability to do other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ability to read blueprints routings and measuring equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical shop floor with possible exposure to dirt dust fumes heat cold noise vibration oil and water. May be exposed to any number of these elements.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Associates Degree in any field
  • Experience operating and programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Knowledge of metallurgical properties or related course work
