Job Description
Physician Assistant-Occupational Medicine Permanent Role
- Location: College Station TX 77845
- Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Guaranteed: 40 Hours
- Compensation: Based on experience.
- Perform comprehensive or focused physical exams and obtain medical histories to assess patients physical and mental health.
- Order interpret and evaluate lab and diagnostic tests to identify patient needs.
- Prescribe or recommend medical drug therapies procedures or interventions based on protocols ensuring efficacy safety and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and implement evidence-based outcomes-focused treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on diagnoses treatments medications nutrition and health promotion.
- Provide guidance on drug interactions including over-the-counter drugs supplements and herbal remedies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of treatment plans progress and outcomes.
- Refer or consult with specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice.
- Provide expert-level consultation for occupational health issues within the scope of training.
- Strong clinical knowledge in diagnosing and treating injuries diseases and conditions.
- Skilled in using EHR systems and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication interpersonal critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to educate and guide patients in lifestyle and behavioral changes.
- Competent in developing and executing treatment plans.
- Proficient in interpreting diagnostic and laboratory test results.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Experience: Open to new graduates; less than 1 year of experience required.
Licensure & Certification:
- PA License: Must hold a current Texas PA license.
- Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Must obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
