About the Role
As a Project Manager in the Natural Science team you will be responsible for planning leading and delivering environmental and natural heritage-based projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and provide technical and strategic guidance to ensure the successful execution of projects for a wide range of clients including municipal provincial federal and private sectors. This role combines project management expertise with a strong foundation in natural sciences such as biology ecology or environmental science.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of environmental and natural science projects including but not limited to ecological assessments species-at-risk surveys and inventories habitat evaluations environmental impact studies and assessments and monitoring programs.
- Prepare and manage project budgets schedules work plans and deliverables ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal technical staff (e.g. biologists GIS specialists planners designers etc.) clients and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee fieldwork planning and execution ensuring safety quality and efficiency.
- Prepare and review technical reports proposals and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders providing regular updates on project status risks and opportunities.
- Support business development efforts including proposal writing client relationship management and identifying new project opportunities.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Biology Ecology Environmental Science or a related discipline (Masters degree preferred).
- Preferably 5 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting with at least 2 years in a project management capacity.
- In-depth understanding of provincial and federal environmental regulations guidelines and permitting processes (e.g. ESA MECP guidelines).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with ecological fieldwork and knowledge of species-at-risk legislation habitat assessment protocols and mitigation planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training is considered an asset but not required.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to field sites within Canada as required.
