Job Description

As part of the Media Group Decision Sciences team this Manager of Data Science will be responsible for leading a team of Data Scientists focused on developing solutions to optimize our content partnering closely with business stakeholders analysts and engineers. The Manger will be tasked with building and deploying scalable data science and AI/ML driven solutions to empower decisions specifically focused around show opportunities. The Manager will leverage a wide spectrum of data their expertise in statistical methods and applied machine learning and their understanding of the Media business to deliver impactful lift to our enterprise metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with key business stakeholders and teams (e.g. Content Strategy Research Advanced Analytics Production teams) to define priorities approaches and business requirements for data science solutions and experiments
- Own and deliver results on existing and new complex projects related to our understanding of content
- Serve as a team expert in statistical methods and applied machine learning
- Translate complex problems and solutions to all levels of the organization
- Manage processes platforms and people in the audience optimization space
- Drive innovation of the methodologies and tools used by the team
- Collaborate with cross-portfolio and cross-platform Decision Sciences leads to understand different audience dynamics between Peacock content & customers and other NBCU businesses brands and franchises
- Help contribute to a diverse equitable and inclusive work culture at Peacock
Qualifications :
- PhD or MS within a quantitative or technical field (i.e. Computer Science Data Science Economics Mathematics Operations Research etc)
- 4 years experience practically applying statistical methods or machine learning techniques in an industry or research environment
- Experience in leading small teams on commercial projects.
- Advanced level knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning. Ability to define the direction for a project and select appropriate methods and tools using up to date knowledge of recent advancements
- Demonstrated experience working with external stakeholders from across the organization
- Experience using data visualization tools and techniques to deliver and present business insights and value
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience implementing scalable systems using Databricks or similar cloud platform.
- Experience with ownership of data products either internal or consumer-facing
- Experience owning data pipelines and machine learning pipelines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative with an aptitude and willingness to learn
- Strong sense of curiosity accountability and ability to execute projects of all sizes with vision & purpose
- Video/TV/Streaming content enthusiast

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite most commonly an employees residence.

Salary range: $145000 - $180000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
