Job Summary:
The Caregiver provides compassionate hands-on support to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities due to age illness disability or recovery. This role ensures clients safety dignity hygiene mobility and emotional well-being in a respectful and professional manner. Under direct supervision or care plans the caregiver supports routines observes health changes and contributes to a safe clean and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing grooming dressing toileting and feeding.
Support mobility needs: assist with walking transfers positioning and use of mobility aids (wheelchairs walkers etc.).
Administer medication reminders and observe client behavior or health status for changes; report any concerns to supervisor or medical personnel.
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements ensuring safe and hygienic food handling.
Maintain cleanliness and order in living spaces including laundry bed-making and light housekeeping duties.
Provide companionship emotional support and engage clients in conversation or approved recreational activities.
Follow individualized care plans and schedules with accuracy and consistency.
Adhere strictly to infection control procedures safety rules and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Document care activities health observations and client feedback accurately in provided records or logbooks.
Respond to emergencies calmly and in accordance with training and established protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in caregiving nursing assistant or similar role preferred.
Certificate in Caregiving First Aid or Basic Life Support (BLS) is an added advantage.
Empathetic patient and respectful with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physically fit and capable of lifting bending and assisting with mobility as needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism under all circumstances.
Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages may be beneficial depending on the assignment).
Working Conditions:
Caregivers may work in private homes residential facilities or rehabilitation settings. Duties may include lifting or physical support exposure to personal hygiene-related tasks and variable working hours (including nights weekends or 24-hour shifts). Full adherence to client care plans and health protocols is essential.
