Job Description
The Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager will play a crucial role in planning organizing and directing the work of surveyors and technicians. This position involves surveying the earths surface to determine precise locations and measurements for various purposes including construction mapmaking and utility locations. The successful candidate will also promote safe work practices among all survey staff and oversee their progress recommending changes as necessary. Additionally this role includes representing the company in meetings and conferences with clients.

Skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- General understanding of survey plan preparation using Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with sub-surface utility designating and locating
- Knowledge of VDOT and Hampton Roads Municipalities preferred
- Familiarity with aerial mapping LiDAR scanning and sUAS preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage operations of multiple field crews
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and billing
- Responsible for client management on projects
- Lead and manage team members providing leadership and performance management
- Engage in business development for the discipline within the market
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 12 years of experience in surveying
- Professional Registered Land Surveyor in Virginia
- A working knowledge of Federal State and local jurisdiction surveying regulations
