Join Our Team as a Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager!
Are you a highly experienced and licensed Land Surveyor looking to step into a leadership role Do you thrive in managing diverse surveying projects while mentoring teams and building client relationships Were seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager to lead our dynamic team and oversee projects across construction utility location SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) and land development.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multiple survey field crews and office technicians
- Organize plan and direct land surveying operations and ensure compliance with Federal State and local regulations

Conduct quality control/assurance reviews on project deliverables

Manage client relationships budgets schedules and billing
- Collaborate with engineers designers and project stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
- Represent the company in client meetings presentations and business development efforts
- Provide mentorship feedback and coaching to survey staff fostering professional growth and safety practices
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
12 years of progressive experience in land surveying
-
Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of Virginia
- Proficient in Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Solid understanding of surveying codes standards and jurisdictional regulations
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
-
Experience with subsurface utility locating and designating (SUE)

Familiarity with VDOT and Hampton Roads municipalities
- Knowledge of aerial mapping LiDAR scanning and small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS)
Work Environment & Travel:
-
80% office-based (comfortable standard office setting)
-
Occasional fieldwork in varying weather conditions
-
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
-
Travel Required: 20%
