Job Description

DUTIES:

1. Responsible to Head Teacher Special Education Teacher and Special Education Supervisor
2. Provide instructional assistance under the direction of the teacher to a small group or individual student(s).
3. Responsible for providing clerical services such as preparing duplicating organizing and distributing materials to children and other miscellaneous clerical tasks.
4. Assist in feeding during lunch and snack periods when needed.
Feed diaper and assist with personal hygiene as needed.
5. Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Teacher of this summer program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
2. Has not received a layoff notice.
3. Preference will be given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program during the academic year.
4. Preference will be given to 1:1 paraprofessionals who currently work with a specific student in an extended year program to facilitate continuity of instruction and social/ emotional development.
5. Availability required for entire program work schedule.

LPNs hourly rate currently $38.07 - $39.52

Para Educators hourly rate currently $21.39 - $25.78
