Graduate Literacy Mentor Leyton Waltham Forest September 2025 Start
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for literacy and education Would you like to support young learners in developing their reading and writing skills in a vibrant and inclusive primary school
A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Leyton Waltham Forest is looking to appoint a Graduate Literacy Mentor for a September 2025 start. This role is ideal for an aspiring teacher or educational professional seeking hands-on classroom experience while helping pupils develop confidence in their literacy abilities.

Your Responsibilities:
Delivering targeted reading and writing support to pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
Supporting the development of reading fluency comprehension and writing structure
Assisting class teachers in designing and delivering effective literacy interventions
Inspiring students to enjoy reading and express themselves through writing
Monitoring and tracking pupils progress and feeding back to teachers
Helping to create a positive nurturing learning environment for all students
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be a recent graduate ideally in English Education or a related field
Be passionate about literacy and committed to improving student outcomes
Have a proactive and compassionate approach to supporting young learners
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be organised and adaptable to meet students varying literacy needs
Experience working with children is advantageous but not essential
