SECURITY TECHNICIAN - Technology & Information Services
Classification: Classified - 260 day calendar
Reports to: Director of Cybersecurity
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Security Technician is responsible for assisting in the installation maintenance and monitoring of security systems including firewalls intrusion detection systems and antivirus software. This role ensures that security systems are operating efficiently and effectively under the guidance of senior security engineers. The Security Technician will assist in troubleshooting security issues provide ongoing support and contribute to the overall cybersecurity efforts to protect the organizations assets.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field;
2. Certifications such as CompTIA Security Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or other relevant certifications are a plus.
3. 2 years of experience in IT support or a security-related role.
4. Basic knowledge of security systems firewalls and network security concepts.
5. Strong understanding of security tools and technologies such as firewalls antivirus software and intrusion detection systems.
6. Ability to troubleshoot security-related issues and provide support for system maintenance.
7. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to document security activities and maintain accurate records.
9. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
10. Eagerness to learn and improve security knowledge and skills.
11. Or such alternatives to the above qualifications as the LBL Board of Directors/Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

8. Demonstrated experience in organization and management of documents file versions etc.
9. Demonstrated ability to be punctual in meeting deadlines attending meetings and following schedules.
10. Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: oral and written communication and maintaining professional dress standards.
11. Utilize the teleservice platform to provide services to educators students and district staff as directed.
12. Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
