Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager the Plumbing Warehouse Associate supports the plumbing department through job staging materials replenishment and vendor coordination. This role works closely with the dispatch/coordination team and the install and service departments to ensure materials and equipment are staged appropriately and ready for each job. This is a daily operational role in making sure technicians have what they needwhether from the shop or preferred supply housesto keep jobs moving efficiently cost-effectively and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Job Staging and Returns
    • Coordinate job materials staging for plumbing install and service crews ensuring all required parts are pulled and ready prior to scheduled work.
    • Serve as a point of contact for technicians during morning dispatch reinforcing material readiness and making sure crews leave equipped informed and aligned with job expectations.
    • Review purchase orders and available stock to confirm job kits are complete before release.
    • Process returns from completed jobs verifying restock condition and ensuring items are credited accurately for job costing.
    • Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve any issues related to return documentation or material reconciliation.

  • Inventory and Shop Materials Oversight
    • Support tracking and organization of plumbing materials stored across shop areas shelving and storage containers.
    • Oversee truck stock replenishment and press tray returns helping ensure that field technicians follow procedures for returning unused or job-costed parts.
    • Assist with internal loaner tool check-out and return procedures maintaining accountability and organization of shared gear.

  • Ordering and Vendor Coordination
    • Place and track purchase orders for truck stock tools and plumbing shop supplies using preferred vendors.
    • Coordinate with vendors to source materials and specialty items for service and install jobs.
    • Monitor backorders and communicate availability issues to the coordination team and field staff.
    • Support price comparisons and vendor selection to help ensure efficient and cost-effective material purchases.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)

  • Multiple years of experience in the plumbing trade either in the field or in a plumbing-specific warehouse or shop environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills for communication and order tracking
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple departments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving bending standing and reaching in a warehouse environment
  • Consistent focus on safety efficiency and proper material handling
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support other warehouse departments and contribute to overall company growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using purchase order software such as QuickBooks
  • Familiarity with field service platforms such as Service Titan
  • Knowledge of Pace and Ferguson plumbing products and vendor processes particularly within the North Bay area
  • Forklift certified
