About the role
This Technical Lead places you at the forefront of St Vincents Health Network Sydneys largest transformation initiative: the Electrical Medical Record (EMR) and Patient Administration System (PAS) Program.
The Technical Lead will be responsible for the planning design and implementation of the technical environment required to support a large-scale EMR and PAS at SVHNS.
To be successful in this role you will lead a technical team comprised of staff and external contractors to deliver a range of key projects and initiatives fundamental to the implementation.
- Report to the Program Director and lead mentor and manage the EMR and PAS technical team
- Lead mentor and manage the Technical team ensuring efficient and effective delivery across all key areas
- Actively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand technical needs and deliver solutions in the context of the delivery of patient care
- Design and facilitate implementation of directory services in collaboration with Lead Architect including Identity and Access Management solutions and standard operating environments supporting requirements as outlined for both NSWH and SVHA
- Data Centre HWAN WAN and LAN design configuration and implementation
- Firewall management and co-ordination of configuration changes
- Coordination and management of the scope procurement configuration deployment and testing of all end user and point of care devices;
- Plan design and implement the required IT infrastructure (including hardware and network requirements) to support a large-scale EMR ensuring that the appropriate management models are also implemented to ensure it is maintained in alignment with policies and processes;
- Ensure that appropriate cyber-security controls have been considered and deployed to support the EMR implementation;
- Have a flexible working environment to enjoy with a 50/50 split of time working at hospital/time working from home
About you:

- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or relevant field and a minimum of 5 years working as a Project Manager in Information Technology ideally within a healthcare environment or setting
- A sound understanding of networking hosting and end user computing technologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of different experts with multiple deliverables in a large scale environment across multiple locations
- Ability to work on premises at St Vincents Hospital Sydney Darlinghurst. You will also be required to travel to other sites such as Reserve Road St Leonards as required.
- Strong inter-personal skills with demonstrated success in leading technology rollouts with demonstratable experience leading a team of technical resources
- Demonstrated experience in project management functions including budget planning and financial management and forecasting risk and issue management and implementation of governance frameworks to support technical delivery
- Previous experience working in a large scale EMR and/or PAS implementation is desirable
- A sound understanding of point of care device technologies in a healthcare setting
