PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide instruction to parents in and out of the school environment and promote the academic and affective needs of students by providing leadership training that empowers parents to be an advocate for the educational needs of their children; to promote a positive working relationship among and between staff and the community by establishing a climate conducive to open communication and productive work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Valid Texas drivers Class C license required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Effective interpersonal skills; types and prints legibly; basic computer skills; Bilingual-speak and write fluent English and Spanish; communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Experience:
One (1) year of experience working with community services and adults preferred

None
EQUIPMENT USED:
Privately owned vehicle computer copiers multimedia equipment and other classroom or office machines
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Patience in dealing with parents and small children; maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Driving; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; occasional lifting and/or moving up to 45 pounds and over; ability to provide for sanitation needs and student hygiene as required; assist in the restraining of students in crisis situations

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $13.00
Maximum: $18.20
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined indvidually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
