Senior Corporate Accountant Connor Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. Toronto ON Join our Toronto-based accounting team as a Senior Corporate Accountant. This is a great opportunity if you are an established professional accountant with several years of progressive experience under your belt. We are looking for someone that takes pride in producing high quality work and understands the importance of accurate information as the basis for effective decision-making. Our organizational structure is more complex than most so pulling all our financial information together is no simple task but you like to go outside your comfort zone to learn new things. What You Will Be Doing - Reports to the Controller Affiliates and work as part of the team that delivers financial reporting and analysis to the firms senior leadership team
- Cash management and bank reconciliations
- Preparing period-end journal entries and supporting working papers
- Facilitating timely and accurate month and quarter end closings including working with co-workers from other departments to acquire required financial information
- Preparing individual financial statements including cash flow statements and notes to financial statements
- Preparing consolidated financial statements
- Preparing and assembling materials for board meetings
- Collecting data for audits and assisting external financial statement auditors
- Preparing and filing working capital forms G/HST & QST returns corporate income tax returns and partnership information returns
- Dealing with routine inquiries from taxation authorities such as CRA and Revenue Qubec
- Preparing budgets including consultations with members of management
What You Bring - Undergraduate degree preferably a commerce or business degree with a concentration in accounting or finance
- Canadian CPA designation or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience including experience preparing consolidated financial statements
- Knowledgeable with respect to both IFRS and ASPE
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software preferably Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics
- Proven ability to think logically and problem solve effectively
- Ability to be self-motivated to take initiative and prioritize responsibilities
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines
