Restaurant Manager / Assistant Manager
Modern Tasting Menu & Brunch Concepts Durham
Location: Central Durham
Full-Time Tuesday Sunday (flexible hours)
Salary: Up to 35000 per annum (depending on experience) benefits
About the Venues
This is an opportunity to join two independent chef-led restaurants in the heart of Durham:

One offers a seasonal modern British tasting menu in a relaxed fine dining setting and is featured in the Michelin Guide.

The other delivers vibrant brunches sharing plates and standout Sunday roasts in a more casual yet quality-focused space.
Both venues are rooted in creativity local support and high standards.
The Role
Were seeking a proactive and experienced Manager or Assistant Manager who can confidently lead day-to-day FOH operations at one or both sites. You ll play a key part in maintaining consistency training the team and running service smoothly especially when senior leadership is based at the other venue.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the FOH team during busy service periods

Ensure exceptional guest experience and strong operational flow

Manage bookings table planning and daily admin

Handle stock control and supplier communications

Take ownership and lead confidently in the absence of senior management

Help maintain high standards across both restaurants
Ideal Candidate
-
Previous experience in a similar role (restaurant management or assistant management)
-
Confident leading service and running shifts independently
-
A passion for hospitality with strong guest-facing skills
-
Wine knowledge or a strong interest in developing it

Adaptability to work across both a refined and relaxed dining environment

Organised calm and a natural team motivator
