Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Administer therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as nebulizer treatments inhalation therapy and oxygen therapy.
- Monitor and assess patients cardiopulmonary status and respond to emergencies appropriately.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct patient education on proper respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
- Document and evaluate the efficacy of respiratory treatments and interventions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment to ensure optimal functional performance.
- Participate in quality assurance and departmental performance improvement initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
- Current and valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in the state of South Carolina.
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
- Experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
