We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Bradford United States. As the second-in-command in our kitchen you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and service excellence.
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations including menu planning food preparation and quality control
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Manage inventory place orders and control food costs
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations including HACCP standards
- Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary overseeing all kitchen operations
- Participate in menu costing and pricing strategies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Assist in managing kitchen budgets and financial performance
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent culinary education
- Excellent culinary skills with a strong focus on taste presentation and innovation
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients and kitchen equipment
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in menu planning recipe development and cost control
- Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP standards
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Computer literacy including experience with kitchen management software (preferred)
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification (preferred)
