Work in a collaborative outpatient and inpatient setting caring for medically complex infants children and adolescents.
Bring your areas of interest and expertise to the largest pediatric neurosciences program in West Michigan. Our department has been ranked as a Top 50 U.S. World & News Report Pediatric Neurosciences program for the past 5 years.
Position Highlights/Overview:
This position is for a 3rd EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)/epilepsy APP. We currently have 2 NPs on this team in addition to 6 epileptologists
This role specializes in non-intractable and intractable epilepsy epilepsy surgery. Will train the right candidate!
Will work in our 8 bed wireless EMU performing admissions follow ups ordering medications and placing other orders in collaboration with the epileptologists
Will also see epilepsy patients in clinic as well as general neurology patients
Rotation for EMU to clinic is 1:2 (1 EMU week then 2 weeks in clinic)
This role will also cover 5 weekends a year 1 holiday a year in the EMU/inpatient setting
Program Highlights:
Rapidly growing pediatric neurology department currently with10 neurologists and 10 APPs
Level I Pediatric Trauma Center & Pediatric Stroke Center
Abundant research opportunities in collaboration with our Pediatric Neurologists

Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
Required masters degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a masters post-masters or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
3 years of relevant clinical experience
Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner
LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
Physician Assistant:
Required Masters Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan
CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
