Job Description

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Academic Employee and Labor Relations The Coordinator Employee and Labor Relations and Faculty Affairs provides support to the Employee and Labor Relations Department and to the Faculty Affairs team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of the personnel files for Unit 3 (faculty). Responds and coordinates requests for personnel file review.
  • Responsible for grievance data management for Unit 3 (faculty) and Unit 11 employees. Provides relevant grievant information to union faculty and management. Manages the grievance database to ensure information/documents are entered and uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Serves as the point person for coordination and completion of Background Checks and Live Scan requests for Unit 3 (faculty) and Unit 11 employees. Reports flagged/anomalies to Academic Employee and Labor Relations.
  • Provides assistance and support for Personal and Professional Leaves. Responsibilities include receiving reviewing and responding to Leaves request.
  • Responsible for researching gathering analyzing and preparing reports for personnel information upon request from Faculty Affairs team. Serves as point person for Employment Verification requests and preparing Employment Verification letters.
  • This position provides administrative support to the Director Employee and Labor Relations and Faculty Affairs staff. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings taking notes transcribing meeting notes. Assist Faculty Affairs teams with events/functions. Attends event/functions to provide support as needed.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Possesses strong knowledge of HR fundamentals and experience handling sensitive information. Familiar with student employment policies and analytical processes. Proficient in database use with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly organized detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Demonstrates initiative sound judgment and the ability to work independently to achieve results.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to three years of related experience required.

Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience in related field is preferred.

Experience with PeopleSoft HR and using Microsoft Office proficiently preferred.

  • Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3661 - $4300 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3661 - $6385 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

Additional Information
