Overview

The Informatics Solutions Engineer will provide programming and technical support for clinical application systems with development and maintenance of will include support of programs and systems related to the electronic health record and other clinical applications and software that support clinical role has a commitment to clinical staff and departments as well as across the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) division and the Information Technology (IT) department to provide clear communication collaboration and expertise in the technical aspects of software management. The Informatics Solutions Engineer role also provides technical support to HIT analysts and leads small projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development including planning development implementation and operation for complex computer projects while supporting the mission vision and strategic priorities of Childrens Mercy and the IT role will create and update system documentation including diagrams technical schema and project related documents and will work with the Senior Directors of HIT to keep them aware of changes or updates to the software systems.

This position will focus on lab instrument interfaces with EHR and other 3rd party lab systems in addition to opportunities in other clinical areas such as radiology and cardiology.

The incumbent must live within the KC Metro area.

If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Application and Technology Management.
  • Project and Program Management.
  • Serves as a Health Informatics resource for clinical departments.
  • Report progress issues and project details to supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Health Informatics or related degree and 3-5 years experience. Experience in the support development and management of Healthcare IT. OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent OR Associates degree and 7 or more years experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
  • At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Preferred.
