Key Responsibilities
Lead execution of regional or global financial strategies within the organization
Deliver timely insightful management reporting and financial planning processes
Lead the development of detailed budget and financial forecasts for use in Global and Regional country Business Franchise (BF) and Business Unit (BU) planning.
Design early warning systems to monitor and flag financial performance risks
Analyze financial data to drive performance including Sales trends Functional Expenses Other Income and Expenses Impairment review Management Cash Flow Capital Investments lifetime costs for projects NPV etc.
Support leadership with cost control financial and risk analysis and corrective financial actions
Conduct valuable analyses e.g. Resource Allocation Profitability analyses Benchmarking to recommend short 1/3 and long-term targets and improvement areas
Oversee and develop a team of BPA professionals ensuring process excellence
Guide business case development and contribute to high-value investment negotiations and programs/projects for the domain/sub domains
Support M&A and Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) deal integration activities
Provide input for corporate statutory reporting tax filings capitalization R&D credit applications.
Forecast and report cash flow for U.S. development and global market operations
Essential Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Minimum 6 years of relevant finance experience
Strong business partnering and communication skills
Proven ability to influence decisions using data-driven insights
Demonstrated leadership and ownership in delivering results
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and adaptability in dynamic environments
Desirable Requirements
Degree in Business Finance Economics or Accounting; advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus
Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry especially in development finance
Novartis Compensation Summary
The salary for this position is expected to range between $160300.00 and $297700.00 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

In addition employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation personal days holidays and other leaves.
